Good Morning, Islanders Country.
Even if the hopes you started out with are dashed, hope has to be maintained.
They call us the “Isles Faithful,” and that moniker will be tested tonight at UBS Arena. The team needs to shake the sting off from demoralizing Game 2, and the fans need to “shake the stable” to help the cause.
This is what I’m hoping for tonight.
I’m hoping that whatever fans truly believe the outcome of the series will be, those in attendance will provide the home-ice advantage this team desperately needs against a more talented Carolina Hurricanes team.
I’m hoping Game 3 resembles Game 1 more than Game 2.
I’m hoping Patrick Roy makes the necessary adjustments.
I’m hoping Ilya Sorokin rises to the occasion.
I’m hoping the team’s best players, Barzal, Horvat, and Nelson, are flying.
I hope we get a lead and hold onto it.
I’m hoping we’re watching Game 4 with a chance to even the series.
I’m hoping we’re wrong about this team’s chances.
I hope.
