Good Morning, Islanders Country.

We all have our favorite TV shows.

Sitcoms, dramas, crime, whatever they may be.

No matter how entertaining they are in the early seasons, these shows grow stale over time. It’s not that the writers run out of ideas; it’s just that they’re out of stories for our main characters to keep us captivated.

There are exceptions, but by the fourth, fifth, and sixth seasons, the writing is worse, the plot lines are predictable, and you start questioning if it’s worth sticking with it much longer.

Right now, watching the Islanders feel like one of those shows (Cobra Kai feels that way now, too, sorry, Ralph! More on him later).

You’re watching out of obligation more than anything else. You don’t find it quite as engaging as it once was, and the storyline keeps repeating itself.

Nearly 20 games in, the story arc of this Islanders team and season feels predictable, doesn’t it? Each game has repeatable elements that have grown tiresome - blown leads, loser points, bad special teams, etc. It’s not a re-run, but it can feel like you’re watching a repeat.
