Quick Fix: Enjoy The Ride

As we all expected, the Islanders are buyers at the trade deadline

Good Morning, Islanders Country.

It’s a Quick Fix featuring Joe Buono (@IslesFix) and former VP of Communications for the Islanders, Chris Botta (@ChrisBottaNHL).

On this episode, Chris and Joe discuss how the magic and joy of this season have created an unexpected feel around the franchise and put the Islanders and GM Mathieu Darche in the position to be aggressive at the trade deadline, with the Islanders linked to multiple targets before Friday’s trade deadline.

Chris and Joe discuss the buzz around Vancouver’s Connor Garland, Jordan Kyrou, and some other names, while assessing the type of deal and price that it would cost to add to a roster that could make some noise this post-season. Plus, we talk about the Islanders’ soaring attendance (is it all due to Matthew Schaefer?) and take questions from our followers.

Listen and enjoy!

🔗 Islanders’ Anders Lee shows he has a lot more to give with vital goals in playoff push by Joe Pantorno, AMNY “The unstoppable march of time knows little resistance in athletics, and those who attempt to kick and scream their way toward the oblivion that is the realization that they cannot produce the same way they did a 12 or 15 years earlier are more often than not humbled in unceremonious fashion.”

🔗 Matthew Schaefer-led Islanders aren’t OK being just a ‘challenger brand’ anymore by Ethan Sears, New York Post Not only has Matthew Schaefer, who was named the NHL’s first star of the week Monday after a two-goal performance to help the Islanders come back to beat the Panthers on Sunday night, helped turbocharge business, but the Isles have also taken a more proactive approach to their marketing, throwing out Lou Lamoriello’s rulebook that put tight strictures on social media content and prohibited promoting individual players over the team.”

And we leave you with this…a rookie defenseman! 🤯
