⏭ NEXT UP: The Islanders are back on the ice tonight as they travel to DC to take on Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals.

Face-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM EDT.

📊 STANDINGS:

📚 SOUND SMART: Per Eric Hornick in The Skinny, Noah Dobson played 26:06 on Monday night vs. Detroit and has played at least 25 minutes in each of the last four games (first Isles player to do that since Travis Hamonic did so six times in 2016) and at least 24 minutes in seven straight games (first since Hamonic did so nine times in 2014). Bo Horvat's goal was the latest tying goal the Isles have scored on the power play since February 4, 2020, when Mathew Barzal scored at 16:01; the Isles won that game in overtime on an Anthony Beauvillier goal.

🎥 ISLES REWIND: On November 2, 1982, the Islanders had their 30-game home regular-season unbeaten streak end when they lost on home ice 3-1 to the Pittsburgh Penguins. The team went a remarkable 28-0-2 during the streak. It was the Islanders' first regular-season loss at the Nassau Coliseum since Dec. 29. 1981 when they were beaten, 5-4, by Montreal.

🔗 Stadium Series Logo Unveiled; Islanders to Face Rangers on Sunday February 18 by Stefen Rosner and Mathew Page “The 2024 NHL Stadium Series at MetLife Stadium is just over three months away. Four teams will make up the event across two games: the New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday February 17, and the New York Islanders and Rangers the next day, Sunday.”

🔗 NY Islanders: Bo Horvat's post-game remarks exemplify his leadership by Michael Stahurski, Eyes on Isles The consummate professional that Horvat is, a letter on his sweater doesn't define who he is. With a locker room as closely knit as the Islanders, Lou Lamoriello understood what kind of play to bring in when trading for Horvat, capable of bringing the room even closer.”

🔗 The Bridgeport Report: Oct. 31, 2023 by Alan Fuehring, NewYorkIslanders.com Following a six-day hiatus, the Islanders return to action this weekend to finish a three-game road trip against the Hershey Bears (6-2-0-0) at 7 p.m. inside Giant Center. Bridgeport hosts the Springfield Thunderbirds (4-4-0-0) at Total Mortgage Arena this Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. All games can be seen live on AHLTV or heard for free on the Bridgeport Islanders Radio Network.”

And we leave you with this…Stadium Series tickets are on Sale! “

To be able to participate in something here and get 80,000 people [in attendance], what more can you say about the game,” Islanders President and General Manager Lou Lamoriello said. “The excitement is there, and everyone is looking forward to it.”
